Whole-Body Approach @ Lively Physio

Everything is linked so we find the real driver.

  • Find the true driver, not just the symptom
  • A framework for the whole body — including the thorax
  • Developed by Dr. Linda-Joy Lee (Canada)
  • Delivered by ConnectTherapy™-trained physios
The Two Models

ConnectTherapy™ & the Thoracic Ring Approach™

Together, they help us treat the whole you — not just where it hurts.

ConnectTherapy™

Everything is linked. A past ankle sprain may affect your shoulder today; a chest infection can alter core function and contribute to low back pain. ConnectTherapy™ helps us understand these connections and find the true driver of your pain.

The Thoracic Ring Approach™

A 3-dimensional, functional framework for your thoracic spine and ribcage. Unlike traditional manual therapy, it treats the thorax as a complete system — where each ‘Thoracic Ring’ plays a crucial role in movement, breathing and core stability.
Everything Is Linked

How one area drives another

Pain rarely lives in isolation — these are the kinds of connections we look for.
  • A past ankle sprain → today’s shoulder pain
  • Asymmetrical movement → the pelvic floor
  • Restricted breathing → reduced core stability
  • A chest infection → core function & low back pain
  • Emotional stress → increased pain
  • Movement & exercise → brain and wellbeing

Both models were developed by Dr. Linda-Joy Lee in Canada. Our physiotherapists Christina Lorenc and Sylvia Yong-Gonzales are graduates of the ConnectTherapy™ Series.

When It Helps

Ideal for persistent, puzzling pain

This whole-body lens is especially valuable when pain moves around, keeps returning, or hasn’t fully resolved with standard treatment — because the real driver is often somewhere other than where you feel it.
  • Pain that moves around the body
  • Recurring injuries with no clear cause
  • Symptoms that return after standard care
  • Multiple areas of pain at once
  • Breathing, core or stability issues
  • Whole-body movement imbalances

Real-Time Ultrasound Machine (RTUS)

Our latest addition to our clinic is this wonderful machine. The RTUS is used to assess and train a person’s deep core muscles (transversus abdominis/multifidus) and pelvic floor muscles.

This machine works just like the one for pregnant women, but the emphasis is on muscles. The screen will show the specific muscles and then the training will be directed by one of our qualified physiotherapists.

The RTUS is ideal for:

  • People with neck pain and lower back pain
  • Pre and Post-Pregnancy
  • Pre and Post-Spinal Surgery
  • People with Incontinence (Stress and Urgency)
  • Women with organ Prolapse
