Taping @ Lively Physio

Support that keeps you moving and healing.

  • Support an injury without sitting on the sidelines
  • Reduce pain and offload injured structures
  • Improve posture and muscle activation
  • Assist a safe return to work or sport
The Basics

What is physiotherapy taping?

Applying tape over muscles and joints to support, offload and retrain how your body moves.

What taping does

Taping can provide support without restricting movement, or restrict movement where needed — reducing pain, improving postural awareness and muscle activation, and promoting circulation and healing.

When we use it

Whether you’re recovering from a sports injury, managing chronic joint pain, or needing postural support through a long workday, taping can reduce injury risk and allow a safe return to activity.
Two Main Types

Choosing the right tape

We’re experienced in a wide range of techniques, tailored to your condition and activity level.

Rigid (strapping) tape

Used to limit movement and protect healing structures.
  • Limits movement in an injured joint
  • Protects ligaments & tendons after sprains
  • Provides stability during activity
  • Helps prevent re-injury in high-risk sport

Kinesiology (K-tape)

Flexible, elastic tape that moves with you.
  • Improves circulation & lymphatic drainage
  • Gives proprioceptive feedback
  • Supports muscles without limiting mobility
  • Reduces swelling and aids posture
Who Benefits

Taping isn’t just for athletes

We use taping across a wide range of everyday conditions.

Real-Time Ultrasound Machine (RTUS)

Our latest addition to our clinic is this wonderful machine. The RTUS is used to assess and train a person’s deep core muscles (transversus abdominis/multifidus) and pelvic floor muscles.

This machine works just like the one for pregnant women, but the emphasis is on muscles. The screen will show the specific muscles and then the training will be directed by one of our qualified physiotherapists.

The RTUS is ideal for:

  • People with neck pain and lower back pain
  • Pre and Post-Pregnancy
  • Pre and Post-Spinal Surgery
  • People with Incontinence (Stress and Urgency)
  • Women with organ Prolapse
