At Lively Physio & Pilates we specialise in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries for athletes at every level — from weekend enthusiasts to elite competitors.
Sports injuries require a different approach to general musculoskeletal conditions. We commonly treat ankle sprains and strains, knee injuries (including ACL, meniscus and patella conditions), shoulder pain and instability, back and neck injuries, overuse and repetitive strain conditions, and injuries occurring off the field that impact sporting performance.
Our physiotherapists focus on goal-oriented, evidence-based rehabilitation designed to help you return to sport safely, efficiently and with a strong emphasis on long-term injury prevention — because getting you back isn’t enough; we want to keep you there.
Your first sports injury consultation includes a detailed history of the injury — how it occurred, your training load, sport-specific demands and any previous injuries — followed by a comprehensive objective assessment of joint, muscle and movement function.
We identify underlying contributing factors such as biomechanics, posture, strength imbalances or technique errors, then build a personalised, progressive rehabilitation plan focused on pain relief, recovery and achieving optimal sporting performance. Our care features individualised plans tailored to your sport, position and goals, and a strong emphasis on safe return-to-sport protocols.
We use criteria-based testing — not just time — so you return when you’re genuinely ready and less likely to re-injure. This approach means you get back sooner and stay back, rather than rushing back and suffering a setback.
Not blindly — but complete rest is rarely the answer either. We’ll help you load smartly, modifying training so you keep progressing without aggravating your injury or setting yourself back.
Yes — for complex or multi-area presentations we offer longer 60-minute initial sessions. Just call our friendly reception team to discuss and book the right appointment for your situation.
Our latest addition to our clinic is this wonderful machine. The RTUS is used to assess and train a person’s deep core muscles (transversus abdominis/multifidus) and pelvic floor muscles.
This machine works just like the one for pregnant women, but the emphasis is on muscles. The screen will show the specific muscles and then the training will be directed by one of our qualified physiotherapists.
